

Turn on the Linux option seen in the menu.Click on the Advanced tab and select Developers.

Open up the ChromeOS settings (by clicking the time area in the lower-right corner of the desktop and then clicking the gear-shaped Settings icon).Once you finish these steps, you can go into the terminal and change a few flags with these steps. Your Chromebook will download an update and will ask to restart.Next to Channel, select Change channel.At the bottom left of the sidebar, select About ChromeOS.At the bottom right of your Chromebook, select the time and then Settings.Keep in mind switching to Dev Channel will erase your Chromebook, so back up your data first! If your device is on this list, you can switch your Chromebook over to the Dev Channel with the instructions below.

If you have a Chromebook with an Intel Core i3 CPU and 4GB of RAM, Steam on ChromeOS won't work right. These are higher-end Chromebooks, and most require Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i5 CPUs from Intel's 11th generation lineup and 8GB of RAM.
